Ode to filt

Selected as one of eight designer-makers for Odsherred klær sig og Odsherred klær dig (Odsherred dresses and Odsherred dresses you), the project aimed to spotlight the potential of Denmark's first small-scale spinning mill nestled in rural Odsherred, established as Det Vilde Spinderi (The Wild Spinning Mill). Det Vilde Spinderi was founded to harness the region's wealth of wool resources while fostering craft-based employment and preserving traditional skills.

In Ode to Felt, the ancient craft of wet-felting was employed to trace and instigate the journey of a garment from fibre-to-fabric. The region’s landscapes, elements and spirit were channelled into a hand-felted seamless zero-waste vest that displays the possibilities of design that has been sourced, designed and cultivated in one region. Odsherred klær sig og Odsherred klær dig was commissioned by Anneberg Kulturpark in collaboration with Kunstkollektivet 8B, and was showcased at Anneberg Kulturpark, Denmark in 2021.
